With your support we can increase our impact!

Dear supporter,

At Welfare Rights Centre, we’re proud to be a small organisation with a big impact. Helping people in crisis when they have nowhere else to turn. But we can’t do it alone. Our legal work relies on a vital, committed volunteer workforce - law students, practical legal trainees, and pro bono secondees - who contribute thousands of hours each year. Without them, we simply couldn't deliver the services our clients need.

We invest heavily in training and supervising our volunteers. Why? Because it works. Our volunteer program builds skills and strengthens the future of community legal work while we provide legal help to thousands of people navigating the Centrelink system.

“Volunteering at Welfare Rights Centre taught me more than any lecture ever could. I saw first-hand how legal advice can change lives.”
– Former volunteer, now a CLC solicitor

In the wake of the Federal Election, there’s fresh focus on how government policies affect people doing it tough. While the big picture might be shifting, the day-to-day reality for many remains the same - confusing Centrelink processes, long delays, and people at risk of going without income.

That's why our work matters now more than ever. And it’s why your support is so important. Quality training takes time, coordination, and funding. Your donation helps us keep this program running—and growing.

With your help, we can:

  • Train and support the next generation of social justice lawyers

  • Keep our vital services operating

Please consider making a tax-deductible donation today.
