Our People

Welfare Rights Centre opened its doors in 1983 as part of a community legal centre movement responding to the scarcity of affordable legal assistance services available to vulnerable people in the community. Originally co-located with Redfern Legal Centre, the Centre moved to its own premises in 1985, going from strength to strength as the lead service agency in NSW for social security law and policy.

Since its establishment in 1983, Welfare Rights Centre has been shaped by the incredible contributions of its staff, board members, volunteers, and supporters.
